Bismarck, ND (April 27, 2018)—Bismarck Airport will host Vanessa Wold Piano Studio for a studio piano recital on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 3:30pm. The ten student recital will utilize the piano that was placed in the Bismarck Airport Terminal by the Dakota West Arts Council in March 2017. The Dakota West Arts Council placed the piano at the airport for anyone to play while waiting for a flight or passenger.
“We’ve had nothing but positive calls and emails about the artwork and the people playing the piano,” said Eileen Walsh, Executive Director, Dakota West Arts Council. “Now a piano recital. What a perfect way to teach creativity along with music!” She added.
“I chose this unique venue for a piano recital because it helps promote arts advocacy in the Bismarck/Mandan area” said, private piano teacher, Vanessa Wold. “It’s also an acknowledgement of the importance of collaboration between community organizations within our city, and it provides a fun, themed environment for my students to perform in public.” Wold said.
Vanessa Wold learned about the donated piano while passing through the Bismarck Airport on a recent trip. Following some research, she communicated with both Bismarck Airport Administration and Dakota West Arts Council to learn about the details of the donation and felt compelled to step out of the box from the normal studio recital venue and utilize this generous gift in our community. Bismarck Airport and Dakota West Arts Council responded enthusiastically to Vanessa’s request to conduct her spring recital in the terminal building.
This spring recital will be themed towards transportation, it’s free and open to the public.
