Bismarck Airport December & Year End Statistics

2015 was the busiest year ever at the Bismarck Airport. 259,734 passengers, boarded aircraft at Bismarck in 2015 a steady 5.9% increase over 2014. Market shares for Bismarck’s five airlines are shown below with the monthly and annual boarding statistics.
Bismarck Airport was able to have another record year because of regional demand and the great air service opportunities provided by our airline partners. 2015 was the first full year for American Airlines offering hub service to Chicago O’Hare and Dallas Ft Worth. Allegiant Airlines added additional flights to Phoenix Mesa, operated Orlando service year round and flew 757s to Las Vegas during December for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Delta Airlines added seats in Bismarck throughout the year and also provided additional mainline service to Minneapolis during the holidays. Frontier continued to offer its ultra-low cost fares in Bismarck on a seasonal basis drawing passengers from all across the region. Bismarck is the only location in North Dakota still served by Frontier Airlines. United Airlines provided consistent service to its Denver hub throughout 2015. Looking to 2016, United will be offering larger aircraft with first class service desired by many business travelers.
Bismarck is pleased with the 5.9% growth seen in 2015 and is looking forward to a positive 2016. The airport would like to thank its airline partners and passengers for another record year, and looks forward to another great year in 2016.
